Is my deposit refundable?
All deposits are nonrefundable but can be transferred to another date or session if your already booked session gets canceled due to weather etc.
What should we wear to our session?
I always say first dress for the weather, secondly, dress comfortably! After you nail those two things, you can talk colors etc! Ideally I would prefer to stay away from wearing black or any bright white (cream is fine). If you're not sure what colors would be good with your session just reach out and ask and I a send you my client guide!
What time of day do you shoot at?
I shoot mostly outdoors about an hour or two before sunset (golden hour). If it's indoors I generally shoot late morning/early afternoon between 10am-3pm but can be flexible if need be.

What happens if my child(ren) are not cooperating during our session?
I love a challenge and kids! I always say, please do not stress about your kids looking at the camera, smiling etc! Let me do the work and together we will make the best of whatever you child(ren) give us!
We have a family pet, can they be in the photos too??
Generally, I always say yes! There is a few instances I might not allow them, specifically if its mini shoots or at a location that restricts animals. If they are able to be leashed etc that usually is appreciated!
My house is messy and not very "pretty" will my photos look bad?
Embrace your home, your stuff and your life! These photos are for you! We will make your home work the best we can. I generally like to shoot next to a natural light source like next to large windows so I always just suggest tidying up the space where that might be and leave the rest!
We don’t feel very confident in front of the camera, is that ok?
Lucky for you, I am very easy to feel comfortable around! :) I promise you that I will always do my best to make you feel confident and comfortable in front of the camera. We play around a lot and I have the best jokes and lines to loosen everyone up, even your husband ;)

oh no, its raining! What now??
Well crap! Minnesota weather can be unpredictable, but I do my best to watch the weather and stay at our designated time until it gets super close to time to shoot as it changes drastically fast! If it does get too rainy, windy, or cold I will get in contact you to reschedule for a new date! Your deposit will be used to book the new date, but cannot be reimbursed!
Do you use props?
Not generally. If you want or need something for your photoshoot, just message me at the time of booking and we can see if I have anything you may want/need! Also, you are always welcome to bring your own items!
What style photos do you do?
My style of shooting is very candid in the moment with slight prompting! I love getting everyone laughing and engaging with one another rather than starring at the camera and only looking at me. If you want a lot of posing, I'm probably not the gal for you!
How long will it take to get our photos back?
Generally, I can get photos back to clients within two weeks unless its busy season (Sept-Nov) then, it's closer to three weeks! If you need a faster turnaround please let me know and we can discuss if I can make it work!

How far out should I book my session?
I can put something in my calendar as far as a year out! I usually suggest giving yourself a minimum of 2-3 weeks before you want to shoot to book your session. Ideally though, I love when clients book two months in advance because my calendar fills up so fast and I want to make sure we can find a date that works for both myself and my client.
Do you travel for photoshoots?
Yes, and I love it! I am willing to travel anywhere in the U.S. If you want to book me as your photographer and you are needing the photos taken outside of the (Alexandria, MN) area, then we can discuss my travel fee.
How do I book a session with you?
Fill out my form on my website and I will get back to you within a few days! You can also direct message any of my social media accounts as well.
Do you/can you Photoshop or do any retouching etc on me or my family members?
Generally, all skin in my photos are smoothed and softened. Otherwise, I usually only edit fly-away hairs, lint, random objects in the backgrounds and any cuts, pimples that naturally wouldn't be there longer than a week or two. I do NOT edit clients' body sizes, skin colors, etc.
