My "Corny" Family - The Corneliussens

Hi, I’m Leah, your hype girl, kid wrangler and photographer all rolled into one. I’m here to take the pressure off, keep things light, and make sure your session feels more like hanging out than “taking photos.” I believe the best images happen when you feel comfortable, seen, and totally yourself and that’s my goal every single time.

I am a wife, busy mom and life enthusiast! My husband Scott and I are high school sweethearts (together since 2008!) and we’ve called Alexandria home for the last 8 years. We’re raising two amazing boys: Paysen, who is 5 and is nonverbal Autistic and full of life, and Jett, our curious, sweet 3-year-old. Motherhood has shaped me in ways I never expected, especially when it comes to patience, empathy, and meeting people exactly where they are.

When I’m not behind the camera, you’ll usually find me outside exploring nature with my kids, watching sports with my husband, hanging out with my girlfriends or advocating for the special needs community. I’m a board member with The Windmill Project here in Alexandria, which hosts inclusive events for individuals with special needs and their families, something that’s incredibly close to my heart.

As a photographer, I’m drawn to images that tell a story. I love photos that feel personal, meaningful, and real, whether that’s being invited into your home, capturing the quiet in-between moments, or documenting the beautifully imperfect chaos of everyday life. It’s an honor to step into my clients’ lives and preserve moments that feel true to them. Your story matters, and I’d love to help you tell it. Oh and if you’re wondering, yes, our last name is a little corny... but that’s part of our charm.
